Best Home Remedies For Acne
Don’t Overdo It With Your Home Remedies For Acne – Part 2

What does it mean then to not overdo it with home remedies for acne? First, as you wash your face, don’t do it more than 2 or 3 times a day – preferably twice, once when you get up and the other before going to bed. When I was a teenager, I had bad acne and at one point I got obsessed with washing my face. It culminated with me washing it every hour. What I didn’t realize at the time was that the more I washed it, the more I needed to wash it again and the more oily it was getting.

Furthermore, even as you use products to make your skin more dry and less clogged with oil, it is important to keep it moisturized as well. It’s been discussed elsewhere but one excellent and natural product that I cannot stop recommending for this is aloe vera gel. It contains no oil and won’t prevent the skin from oxygenating itself. Use it after any treatment that you feel has dried out your skin too much. It will restore the balance in your skin and avoid triggering the sebaceous glands to produce more oil to compensate for your dry skin – you DON’T want this to happen.

Ultimately, not overdoing it simply means to incorporate new treatments gradually. This allows your body to get acquainted with the substance at a rhythm that isn’t shocking and you will be able to see how it reacts. From there it is easy to adjust quantities as you progress through the treatment. Also, not all treatments are to be taken continuously… some are only intended as cures to be done for a certain amount of time. Obviously, not all home remedies will have the same effects on everyone. The same goes with food. Strive for balance and avoid eating too much of the same things. Avoid refined sugars altogether if you can and it will serve you well to avoid dairy products too.

Don’t Overdo It With Your Home Remedies For Acne

If you are using any strong products to fight off acne – be it a readily available commercial product or a stronger pharmaceutical product that can only be gotten through medical prescription, chances are they are creating imbalances within your body which can actually end up reinforcing the cycle of acne or further extending it.

It’s quite simple : many if not most of the stronger products are drying up the skin way too much and this triggers the body’s sebaceous glands to increase their production of sebum (oil) to compensate. This leads to more acne for which you then need more treatment. It’s a vicious cycle and we’re not even talking about other damaging side effects these products can create.

Although to a much lesser extent, it is the same with home remedies for acne. Balance and patience are required to apply these treatments gradually and allow the body to assimilate the substances you are giving it. You are not doing war to your body, you are helping it to find an equilibrium. Go slow. When using home remedies to cure acne there are fewer chances to be engendering disturbances in the organism because they are all natural substances.

While anyone suffering from acne is likely to want to get rid of its symptoms as quickly as possible, it will do no good to force the body through its natural process of healing and balance. If you use home remedies for acne wisely, it may take more time to see the first significant results on your skin but these are likely to be more stable and durable developments that will leave you feeling better about yourself.
